Wall framing is the meat and potatoes of framing. Once you understand the basics of wall framing, no matter what kind of building you are putting together, whether it be wood or metal, the fundamentals are still the same.
The basic layout of a wall starts with what is called a “top plate” and a “bottom plate.” Between these you will have the studs which are most commonly placed every 16 inches throughout the wall. Within the wall you will also have to account for door and window openings.
